The precautions for the installation of floor springs

Here are the precautions for the installation of floor springs:

Pre - installation Preparation

  • Confirm the Door Type and Size

    • Different types (such as glass doors, solid wood doors, etc.) and sizes of doors have different requirements for floor springs. For example, glass doors are generally heavier, so you need to select a floor spring with appropriate load - bearing capacity. Usually, the width of a single - leaf glass door is between 80 - 100 cm, and the weight is between 50 - 100 kg. You should select the specifications of the floor spring according to this parameter range, and its load - bearing capacity should be at least 1.5 times the weight of the door.

  • Inspect the Ground Conditions

    • The ground where the floor spring is installed needs to be solid and flat. If the ground is made of hard materials such as marble or granite, make sure there are no cracks or loose parts, so as not to affect the installation stability of the floor spring. For wooden floors, you need to consider its load - bearing capacity and may need to reinforce the installation area.

Installation Process

  • Accurate Positioning

    • Accurately determine the installation position of the floor spring according to the size and opening direction of the door. Generally, the floor spring should be installed in the center of the bottom of the door. If the door width is 100 cm, the center position of the floor spring should be about 50 cm away from both sides of the door. During installation, use a level to ensure that the body of the floor spring is installed horizontally. Otherwise, the door will get stuck or not close properly during the opening and closing process.

  • Fix the Floor Spring

    • Use appropriate screws to firmly fix the floor spring to the ground. The length of the screws should be selected according to the ground material and the installation requirements of the floor spring. Generally, when installing on a concrete floor, the screw length can be 6 - 8 cm; when installing on a wooden floor, the screw length of 4 - 6 cm is sufficient, but make sure that the screws can firmly grip the ground material. When tightening the screws, pay attention to the uniform force to avoid damaging the floor spring or tilting the floor spring during installation.

  • Connect the Door Body and the Floor Spring

    • In this step, carefully adjust the connection between the door body and the floor spring to ensure that the rotation axis of the door is accurately aligned with the axis of the floor spring. If it is a glass door, special door clamps are usually used to connect the door body and the floor spring. The door clamp should tightly clamp the glass to prevent the door body from loosening. During installation, pay attention to protecting the door surface to avoid scratches.

Post - installation Debugging

  • Adjust the Closing Speed and Force

    • Floor springs generally have adjustment valves that can adjust the closing speed and force. The closing speed can usually be divided into three gears: fast, medium, and slow, and the force can also be adjusted according to actual needs. For example, in places with a large flow of people, the closing speed can be appropriately adjusted to be faster, but the force should be moderate to avoid pinching people; in a quiet office environment, the closing speed can be adjusted to be slower and the force can be reduced to reduce the noise generated by closing the door.

  • Check the Door Opening and Closing Conditions

    • After the installation and debugging are completed, repeatedly check whether the door opens and closes smoothly. The door should be able to remain stable when opened to about 90 degrees, close tightly against the door frame, and there should be no abnormal friction sound or jamming phenomenon during the closing process. If it is found that the door does not open or close smoothly, you need to re - check whether the floor spring is installed correctly, including whether the position is horizontal and whether the connection is tight, and make timely adjustments.
